Bike Crash

Bad news to report: following a string of bad luck, this past Tuesday I crashed on my bike during the Sleeping Giant training ride. Luckily I was the only one hurt after going down around an awkward turn. The short story is that although I didn't have a concussion or any major trauma, my wrist is fractured and will need a cast for at least 6 weeks. My right shoulder took a big hit too, and I'm sorely missing skin all up my arm.

As for the bike, it's now at Zane's getting checked out. The derailleur is busted, and the frame got a small puncture where the derailleur broke off – so it's possible I may need to get it repaired.  It will be some time (6-8 weeks I'd guess) before the Venge is ready to roll again.

For now, my training and racing will unfortunately be on hiatus until I can heal. This means missing some big races, like Nationals, but that is the luck of the draw.

Stay safe out there and recommend some movies to me – I'll have a little more time on my hands than usual.
